    1. Client Requirement: A Truly "Sleep-Friendly" Bulb

    In April 2026, we received a custom inquiry from a UK-based client.

    This client had a unique business setup — headquarters in the UK, target market in the US. They were developing a sleep-friendly lighting product for American consumers and needed an LED bulb that could truly help users improve sleep quality.

    Their core requirements were very clear:

    "I need a blue-light-free bulb with high CRI, and it must support dimming and color temperature adjustment using a standard wall switch — no smart home system required. Users should be able to use it right out of the box."

    The client demanded a color rendering index ≥98Ra. For context, typical household LED bulbs have CRI between 80-90. CRI≥98 means color accuracy close to natural light — museum or art gallery grade. There is a technical trade-off between high CRI and blue-light-free, requiring a careful balance in spectral design.

    Challenge 3: Switch-controlled dimming and tunable white with 4-step cycling

    The client required 4-step color temperature cycling using a standard wall switch: first power-on lights up in the last used mode; switch off/on within 1-2 seconds to cycle to the next mode; after 5 seconds of power-off, the current mode is memorized. Double-clicking the switch (between 1-2 seconds) resets to the initial mode.

    This required developing a pure switch-controlled dimming and tunable logic — no remote control, no app, no gateway. Users operate it with their existing wall switch.

    3. Solution: From Concept to Mass Production

    Step 1: Spectral Design — Blue-Free + High CRI

    Our engineering team approached the challenge at the spectral level, using special phosphor formulations to reduce the blue light peak while maintaining spectral integrity. The final product achieved CRI≥98Ra with no blue-light hazard.

    Step 3: US Market Adaptation — E26 Base + 100-240V Wide Voltage

    The standard bulb base in the US is E26 (while Europe and Asia commonly use E27). We customized the bulb with an E26 base for direct installation in US standard fixtures.

    The product also supports AC100-240V wide voltage input — compatible with US residential 120V or commercial 277V.
